Wes Cole
Welcome to the NFL Weekly Preview. I'm Wes Cole, and we've got a packed show for you today as we dive into the action from the league this weekend.
Wes Cole
Before we get into the Sunday slate, let’s quickly recap Thursday's game where the Lions faced the Bills. It was an entertaining matchup, with the Bills coming out on top 41-31. It was a strong start for Buffalo, showcasing their offensive firepower.
Sunday slate
Kate Parker
Absolutely, Wes. The Bills looked impressive, and it sets the tone for the rest of the week. Now, let’s dive into the Sunday slate.
Wes Cole
We have 14 games on the schedule this Sunday, starting bright and early at 10 AM PDT. First up, the Panthers will be taking on the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Both teams are looking for their first win after tough losses last week.
Kate Parker
That’s right, Wes. The Panthers need to find a way to get their offense going, while the Falcons will be starting Cooper Rush at quarterback. It’ll be interesting to see how he performs.
Wes Cole
Next, we have the Vikings visiting the Bears, both teams coming off wins. This should be a great matchup in the NFC North. The Bears' defense will need to step up against the Vikings’ high-powered offense.
Kate Parker
And don’t forget about the Eagles heading to Nashville to face the Titans. The Eagles are coming off a solid win, while the Titans will be looking to bounce back after a loss. This could be a pivotal game for both teams.
Wes Cole
We also have the Steelers going to Gillette Stadium to take on the Patriots. The Steelers are riding high after their Week 1 victory, while the Patriots will be desperate to avoid an 0-2 start.
Kate Parker
It’s a must-win for New England, no doubt. Then we have the Packers facing the Jets at MetLife Stadium. The Jets are coming off a strong win, and they’ll be looking to keep that momentum going.
Wes Cole
The Browns and Buccaneers will also clash in a battle of two teams looking for their first wins. This one is crucial for both squads to avoid falling behind early in the season.
Kate Parker
And don’t forget the Saints visiting the Ravens. The Ravens are looking strong, and the Saints need to show they can compete against top-tier teams.
Wes Cole
The Bengals will head to Texas to face the Texans. Joe Burrow is good to go, which is a huge boost for Cincinnati.
Kate Parker
Absolutely, Wes. The Bengals will want to capitalize on that and secure a win against a struggling Texans team.
Wes Cole
Moving on, we have the Jaguars taking on the Broncos in Denver. The Jaguars are looking to build on their Week 1 success, while the Broncos are desperate for a win after a disappointing start.
Kate Parker
And the Raiders will be facing the Chargers in an AFC West showdown. Both teams have high expectations this season, and this game could be a turning point for either squad.
Wes Cole
The Commanders will visit the Cowboys in a matchup of two teams looking to get back on track after losses last week. This rivalry always brings out the best in both teams.
Kate Parker
Then we have the Seahawks facing the Cardinals. Both teams are coming off wins, and this game could be a crucial early-season matchup in the NFC West.
Wes Cole
Finally, we wrap up the Sunday slate with the Dolphins visiting the 49ers. The 49ers are looking to maintain their momentum after a strong start, while the Dolphins are searching for their first win.
Kate Parker
And don’t forget the Sunday night game where the Colts will take on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are looking to build on their success from last week.
Marquee games & picks
Wes Cole
Now, let’s dive into some marquee games and picks. One game that stands out is the Vikings at Bears. Kate, who do you think will come out on top?
Kate Parker
I’m leaning towards the Vikings in this one. Their offense is just too potent, and I think they’ll find a way to exploit the Bears’ defensive gaps.
Wes Cole
I can see that. I’m going to go with the Bears, though. I think their defense will make a big difference at home.
Kate Parker
Next up, the Eagles at Titans. I believe the Eagles will take this one. Their offense looks sharp, and I think they’ll overpower the Titans.
Wes Cole
I agree with you there, Kate. The Eagles have been impressive, and I think they’ll secure a win in Nashville.
Kate Parker
What about the Steelers at Patriots? This is a tough one, but I’m going with the Steelers. Their defense has the potential to disrupt New England’s plans.
Wes Cole
I’m going to take the Patriots in this one. I think they’ll bounce back at home and find a way to win.
Injuries & news
Kate Parker
It’s going to be an exciting matchup for sure. Now, let’s touch on some injuries and news ahead of the weekend.
Wes Cole
The Jets have added Will McDonald IV to their injury report, which could impact their defensive strategy. Plus, DJ Moore’s injury is not considered serious, which is a relief for the Bills.
Kate Parker
Cooper Rush is confirmed to start for the Falcons against the Panthers, and it’ll be interesting to see how he performs in his second start.
Wes Cole
The Commanders have ruled out Frankie Luvu and Chig Okonkwo for their game against the Cowboys, which could affect their defensive schemes.
Kate Parker
And we have some updates from the Bengals, with Joe Burrow cleared to play against the Texans. That’s great news for Cincinnati.
