Bachmeier's 75-yard touchdown pass to Legend Glasker in the third quarter pushed the lead to 21-3. BYU held Iowa State to 49 yards before halftime and improved to 5-0 and 3-0 in the Big 12. Jaylen Raynor passed for 98 yards and a touchdown for the Cyclones.

Erik Sandvik made a 21-yard field goal in overtime as Wyoming beat San Jose State 16-13 on Friday night at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, California. Tyler Hughes tied the game at 13-all with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jake Wilson with 6:25 left in the fourth quarter after an 18-play, 75-yard drive. Wyoming snapped an eight-game road losing streak and won on the road in the series for the first time since 1996. Luke Weaver was 26 of 38 for 251 yards for the Spartans.

Saturday brings Week 6 of the FBS season with the Red River Rivalry as No. 1 Texas meets Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl at 3:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
