The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 on October 21 for their third consecutive victory. Cole Knuble scored his first 2 NHL goals in his second career game. Trevor Zegras also scored, and Dan Vladar made 27 saves. Jason Zucker supplied Buffalo’s goal in his season debut.
The Ottawa Senators defeated the Florida Panthers 5-1, scoring 5 unanswered goals following Brady Tkachuk’s opening strike. Tim Stützle and Stephen Halliday each contributed a goal and an assist. Claude Giroux, Shane Pinto and Warren Foegele also scored. Linus Ullmark stopped 16 shots before leaving early in the third period. Samuel Ersson saved the only shot he faced in relief. Florida’s 3-game winning streak ended.
